Use this at the top of articles on subjects that replaced other items as a means to "remove" them completely from use. It places the article in [[:Category:Deprecated items]], and if the patch is defined, the associated removed from patch category found in [[:Category:removed from World of Warcraft]].

Note: This template will cause certain templates to add "removed" categories instead of regular categories.

This named parameter that defines the patch that changed the item to its deprecated form.
